The Culture Trails: discover our roots
Écija’s extraordinary range of monuments can be experienced throughout the town, with traces of the Romans, its exuberant Baroque churches and palaces, and touches of the most highly refined Renaissance architecture.
The town’s religious architecture features such jewels as the Santa María, Santiago, Santa Bárbara, Victoria, Parroquia Mayor de Santa Cruz, San Gil and San Juan Churches and the Hospital de la Concepción, with its beautiful towers which symbolise the city.
Écija’s elegant palaces display a fine range of architectural workmanship; some fine examples of this include the Peñaflor, Benamejí, Valdehermoso, Las Palmas, Las Tomasas and Santaella palaces.
When you walk through the streets of Écija you will be endlessly surprised by its traditional streets, historic houses and the never-ending artistic details.
