The Culture Trails: discover our roots
This whitewashed town with its steep streets, churches and mansions, set at a crossroads between the meadows and hills, has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site.
The fortified Cerro de San Cristóbal area houses the Alcázar and the palace tower (known as “Torre del Homenaje”).
One of the most emblematic of the town’s monuments is the Torre de la Victoria tower, which has become the town’s symbol and is one of the finest examples of 18th century Baroque architecture. Other examples of this artistic style include the San Sebastián, Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, Nuestra Señora del Carmen and Nuestra Señora de la Asunción churches, and the Marqueses de Cerverales palace.
The town is also home to many convents and chapels.
You should also take time to discover Estepa’s non-religious architecture, including its arches, by strolling through its streets, plazas and atmospheric locations.
